The Lir is a modern, hand-built electric guitar designed around balance, clarity, and feel. Named after the Irish god of the sea, the model reflects a focus on flow - in playability, response, and design.

The Lir is designed to deliver consistency across and along the neck and a comfortable playing experience over long sessions. Each aspect has been specifically thought through to provide the best playability that works with your body's natural tendencies.

The Lir model can be tailored to suit your preferences, with selected materials available for customisation. From tonewoods to finishes and finer details, each build can be adjusted to create an instrument that reflects both personal style and playing needs while staying true to the character of the model.

What makes this guitar special?

Below are some of the base features of the Lir

Multiscale

A multiscale, or "fanned fret" fretboard layout improves string tension balance from string to string. The longer bass strings hold higher tension, preventing slack strings.
Shorter treble strings result in slightly less tension, allowing easier bending and less finger fatigue.

The 24.75" - 25.5" fan is very gentle, becoming quickly familiar even to someone who has never played a multiscale guitar before.

Dynamic neck carve

The dynamic neck carve is shaped to follow the way the hand actually moves along the neck. The profile is subtly offset toward the bass side at the nut and transitions toward the treble side at the heel, allowing the thumb to remain naturally at the peak of the carve as position changes.

The shape evolves from a defined and precise V at the nut end of the neck to a familiar and comfortable medium C shape at the heel end.

Micro-angle headstock

The micro-angle headstock is set at a slight angle to increase the break angle over the nut, providing consistent downward string pressure. This improves string seating in the nut slots and contributes to a more stable, even response across the strings.

By integrating the break angle into the headstock geometry itself, the design removes the need to rely on additional hardware, reducing friction points and also helping the guitar stay in tune.

Purpose-made bridge

The hardtail bridge is designed to reduce overall mass while maintaining clarity and stability at the string contact points. By using a hardwood base combined with stainless steel saddles, the bridge balances warmth and resonance with precise intonation and long-term durability. The reduced weight contributes to a more responsive feel, while the stainless steel saddles and string-through design ensure consistent string definition and wear resistance.

The Lir is built for players who value intention, feel, and long-term reliability. Every element is designed to work together as a cohesive instrument, shaped by hand and finished with care.

Each Lir is made in small numbers, with limited commission availability, ensuring the focus stays on build quality rather than output. If you’re looking for a guitar that responds naturally, plays comfortably for hours, and is built specifically for the way musicians actually use their instruments, now is the time to secure a place in the build schedule.
